Sourcing Manager




Description of position
We are looking for Sourcing Manager to lead selected Orion Packaging Materials and also Fermion Chemicals sourcing categories. You will get the unique opportunity to work in interesting sourcing categories and areas, and ensure that supplier offering and capabilities are meeting our business requirements for the future and contributing to Orion's strategy and business targets.
In your role, you will be managing the selected supplier base of Orion packaging materials and Fermion chemicals. As a sourcing manager, you drive the RFQ and supplier selection process, and negotiate pricing, business models and sourcing agreements in a leading role. You own and lead the category strategy work and risk management activities in your area. Driving improvements and actively managing the product/material lifecycle together with other key stakeholders and experts to ensure the most optimal set-up for business needs is an essential part of your job. You are capable of working across the organizational boundaries with experts from various fields and functions to ensure the best expertise is utilized to reach the desired outcome. You have an eye for the details, but you also understand the big picture, and you can challenge the status quo, if needed. You also have the ability to lead projects and initiatives, and proactively and independently plan actions for the future.
This permanent position is based in Espoo or in Turku.
Description of Unit
Direct Procurement is a part of Procurement and Supply Chain in Orion Global Operations. Direct Procurement is responsible for global purchasing and sourcing for Orion’s and Fermion’s own manufacturing including tasks related to sourcing agreements, risk and cost management, category strategy work, and supplier relationship management and performance.

Requirements
We are looking for a candidate with minimum 2 years of proven professional experience from global sourcing and supplier management, or alternatively you can be currently finishing or have recently finished your M.Sc. degree in the field of Business (e.g. SCM, Logistics, Industrial Economics) or in otherwise suitable field.
A positive can-do attitude with excellent co-operation and networking skills are essential to succeed in this role. You are curious, goal driven and motivated self-starter. You also have a natural talent to take the lead and ownership of tasks and ensure and see them through to completion. You have a growth mindset, and ability to develop and lead things and processes in your sourcing area and in close co-operation with the suppliers and internal stakeholders.
The concepts of SRM and category management are familiar to you and you have gained experience from supplier/commercial agreement negotiations, as well as from pricing and business model negotiations. You communicate and negotiate fluently in Finnish and in English, other language skills are seen as benefit.
Project management skills and previous project work experience is preferred, and you also understand sourcing and supply chain management principles and practices. SAP knowledge and category specific experience are seen as an asset. In this role you will be travelling abroad approx. 20 days per year.
