Head of HR Strategic Project Management

Are you challenged by facilitating strategic decision-making processes in HR, by leading strategic initiatives and heading our Development Management Office (DMO)? If so, this role could be your path to drive clarity, structure, and impactful improvements at the heart of Wartsila’s HR function.
As our Head of HR Strategic Project Management, you will facilitate HR governance, drive the HR Strategy process and the HR project portfolio in terms of progress and impact. You will define and align all functional HR plans with the business strategies and objectives to drive maximum value. In addition, you supply best-in-class HR project (risk) management methodologies, tools and consulting support to the business and the HR community.
This position reports to the Head of HR Technology, Strategy & Insights and will work closely with the HR Leadership Team (HRLT) members and CHRO. You will get the chance to develop yourself and broaden your scope across the various HR disciplines, both in the Group and in the business, and with stakeholders in Information Management (IM) and in Finance.
The position is preferably located in Helsinki, Finland, but other Wärtsilä locations in European time zone can also be considered. We offer possibilities for hybrid remote work.
Responsibilities:

HR Portfolio management: coaching the project owners and steering against the holistic delivery/scoping, timing, and costs. Designing recommendations or scenarios to increase decision-making around additional investments or priority setting.

Development and execution of HR Portfolio governance model, including preparing structured reporting communications towards HRLT, Board of Management and senior business leaders (like co-creating Functional and Business review meeting materials).

Owning the development of a risk, resource demand and capacity management structure.

Support project owners in business case creation and calculations, and materials before presenting to HRLT.

Leading the DMO team and activities, including the development of the HR CI (Continuous Improvement) roadmap.
To succeed in this role, you bring:

Project and portfolio management experience; practical knowledge of continuous improvement practices/Lean 6S and Risk Management appreciated;

Over 10 years of work experience in HR, office/service environment or in a corporate expertise function;

Experience working within a complex stakeholder environment (acting as trusted advisor and thought partner to senior stakeholders);

Ability to work in a fast paced, practical, high demanding context and to build strong relationships with all teams in HR and with relevant stakeholders like IM and Finance.
