Business/Senior Project Controller

We are looking for a Business/Senior Project Controller to join our Customer Delivery team within Marine Power, supporting Business Units Power Supply and Propulsion. Customer Delivery’s mission is to meet customer expectations by ensuring complete and on time project deliverables, safely with superior quality.
The position is permanent, and the preferred location is Vaasa, Finland. Depending on the applicant this role may be defined either as a Senior Project Controller or a combined Project Controller and Business Controller role.

The main responsibilities related to the Senior Project Controller role include but are not limited to:
- Leading, managing, and developing project financials
- Planning and leading the execution of assigned project budget through all phases of the project lifecycle from start-up to project closure
- Overseeing, forecasting and reporting the financial health of the projects by analyzing costs, sales and risks
- Perform project cost and profitability analysis
- Managing project activities in project planning, scheduling, controlling and reporting according to contract, estimates and internal requirements
- Participating in customer and stakeholder negotiations when needed
- Apply Project Management best practices and support Project Managers with cost, time and quality management
- Contribute to reporting towards sales and sales support and actively search for opportunities to improve project financial results
- Ensure on-time, reliable, high-quality management reporting and analysis
- Contribute to the development of own role and related responsibility area within Customer Delivery
The main responsibilities related to the Business Controller role include but are not limited to:
- Contribute to the development of Business Control activities and tools in Customer Delivery
- Participate in Customer Delivery Business Control reporting and forecasting
- Analyse, follow up and report on the financial performance of the projects
- Provide ad hoc analysis and reports on the financial performance of the project portfolio
- Based on financial business information, proactively analyze and seek opportunities for developments and improvement related to project profitability and risks
- Actively participate in and support with financial expertise related to any ongoing settlement cases
- Maintain close collaboration with Project Management, Sales and power Supply Business Control and continuously improve the ways of working
Main requirements for the role:
- B.Sc or M.Sc in applicable field (Economics or Engineering)
- Understanding of project management and financials
- Experience in project controlling and planning
- Solid experience working with ERP systems (SAP), especially PS and FICO modules
- Experience in project management and the marine industry
- Advanced analyzing and reporting skills
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken, other language skills are considered as a benefit
