Wärtsilä Land and Sea Academy Training Centre in Finland is looking for an Instructor / Senior Instructor with a main focus on the Engine Control System UNIC. The location for this position is Vaasa, Finland.
What will you be doing?
The Wärtsilä Land and Sea Academy (WLSA) provides high-quality training services for the energy and marine markets globally. We are focusing on Wärtsilä product and solution training both for our internal and external customer globally in the Marine and Power Plant industries.
We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in engines, who has experience of working with engine automation, and a relevant educational background. You should be excited to stay up to speed on the latest industry technologies and work in a multicultural environment. This role provides you with excellent opportunities to build your network by interacting with various internal stakeholders and to strengthen your knowledge of Wärtsilä products.
As an Instructor / Senior Instructor, your responsibilities for the role include:
- The practical execution of training in our WLSA training centre or on-site (approximately 4 – 8 weeks per year).
- Delivering of theoretical training via online from training centre or home office.
- Developing new training material, concepts, and equipment in WLSA training centre in Vaasa.
- Actively taking part into training delivery related day-to-day activities.
- Continuously strengthening your knowledge of Wärtsilä products.
- Staying up to speed on the latest industry technologies.
To be successful in this role, we expect you have:
- B. Sc. or M. Sc. in Electrical Engineering or similar.
- Strong background in engine automation.
- Professional knowledge and experience in installation and/or operation of power generation and distribution systems.
- Overall knowledge in power plant auxiliary equipment.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills, and a desire to work in multicultural environment.
- Quality, safety, and environmental skills.
- Good command of English, both verbal and written (Finnish and other Nordic languages will be considered an advantage).
- Result- and development-oriented way of working.
- Ship and/or power plant or similar industry experience, along with experience in training delivery, is considered an advantage.
