In this fast changing world of energy, we are constantly on the lookout for future-oriented talent to join our team and to work towards enabling sustainable societies through innovation in technology and services - together. Want to join the ride?

Are you an experienced digital marketing professional ready to build and lead the digital marketing function for a dynamic and growing global business?

Join Wärtsilä Energy Storage  for an exciting opportunity to shape our online presence and drive growth for our energy storage business! We are seeking a Digital Marketing Manager to spearhead the development and execution of all global digital marketing initiatives.

This role will be pivotal in establishing our digital footprint, enhancing brand visibility, and driving customer engagement through all digital channels.

Reporting to the Global Marketing Director, you will be the lead digital specialist on the team, responsible for building and executing the digital marketing strategy from the ground up. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation - from regional leaders to engineers and the product team - to craft compelling digital narratives, create impactful online content, and develop digital sales enablement tools that drive lead generation and business growth.

We are looking for a highly motivated, creative, and results-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable taking ownership of the digital marketing function.

Attention to detail, a highly organised personality, and the ability to grasp and translate technical concepts are crucial.

The preferred location for this position will be in Helsinki, Finland and it will be a hybrid role. We will also consider digital marketing specialists in Toronto, Canada or Mexico City, Mexico.

We will not be relocating candidates. You must have existing work permissions for one of these locations.

What will you be doing?

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive digital marketing strategy to drive awareness, adoption, and revenue growth for Wärtsilä Energy Storage products and services across all verticals and global markets.
  • Work effectively and independently to manage multiple projects and initiatives in parallel. Ability to quickly adapt to and communicate changes in program schedules and priorities.
  • Establish and measure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) specific to digital channels to assess the effectiveness of marketing programs (e.g., website traffic, conversion rates, lead generation, social media engagement).
  • Utilise analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, etc.) to monitor and report on the performance of our website and various digital campaigns, providing actionable insights for continuous improvement.
  • Plan, implement, and manage PPC campaigns across platforms such as Google Ads, Bing Ads, and social media channels to maximise ROI.
  • Develop and implement effective email marketing sequences to nurture leads and drive conversions.
  • Lead social media strategy and content creation + publication, ensuring brand consistency and audience engagement across platforms.
  • Manage and optimise the company’s website to ensure an exceptional user experience and drive organic traffic through effective SEO practices.
  • Collaborate closely with the rest of the marketing team and external resources (as needed) to execute GTM campaigns and vertical-specific digital campaigns, including web copy, webinars, online presentations, articles, whitepapers, blog posts, social media content, and email sequences.
  • Support development of the business unit’s intranet pages and ensure content is up to date.
  • Guide and advise on emerging digital marketing trends, tools, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Develop and maintain a digital marketing budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.

We are looking for you to have some/all of these:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in digital marketing with a proven track record of driving measurable results.
  • Demonstrated experience in key digital marketing areas such as email marketing, website development/management, SEO/SEM, content marketing, and social media marketing.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including Google Ads,  email marketing platforms such as Pardot, and SEO tools. Familiarity with HTML/CSS and content management systems (e.g., WordPress).
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in matrixed organisations.
  • Experience building relationships with and influencing internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven history of creating effective digital marketing programs. Strong analytical skills and experience using data to inform decisions and improve campaign performance.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Pardot, Google Analytics, Google Ads, social media advertising platforms, and other automation tools.
