Wärtsilä Information Management (IM) is an organization of 300+ IT professionals. IM supports Wärtsilä businesses in accelerating digital growth and business productivity. We are looking for an energetic Service Designer to shape the future of our IT environment. In the Service Designer position you will work in global IT projects and contribute to further development of Service Design methods in Wärtsilä. To qualify for the job, you need to be creative, ambitious, good with people and a fun person to work with.
Position information:
The duration of the traineeship is eight months starting preferably at the beginning of March until the end of October 2024.
Possible working location are Helsinki & Vaasa.
To excel in the positions of this category you have:
- On-going studies in a relevant field (B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Information Technology & Business Administration, UX Design, Service Design or equivalent).
- Working fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong skills in basic MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Positive enabling attitude, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically.
The following are seen as benefit to apply in this traineeship position:
- Knowledge and/or experience in Service Design and UX/UI methods
- Ability to plan and execute Service Design/UX/UI Design tasks in IT / operational development projects
- Doing user research
- Collaborating with various stakeholders to understand user needs and design user journeys
- Conducting user tests and communicating with the project team the results
- Visualising/Documenting the outcomes of the tasks (user journey, visual design, user testing results etc.)

This trainee position is part of our collaboration with Suomen Mentorit. This program is for recent graduates (max 18 months from graduation) or students who are graduating within 6 months. To be a suitable candidate you must have a current residence and valid residence permit that allows you to work in Finland. All Suomen Mentorit -positions have a competitive entry level salary of 3 000€/month.
