Job description

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as an Accountant. The successful candidate will play a key role in our Accounting team. You will be working in a broad range of financial processes: purchasing, sales, fixed asset management, accounting, period end closing and more. You get to know the company (and balance sheet) inside and out as you will be collaborating with other functions as well.

The position is full-time and role is based in Helsinki, Finland, with an opportunity to work in hybrid mode. You will report to Varjo’s Head of Accounting.

What you’ll be doing 

• Execution and development of accounting processes and practices of Varjo group.
• Monthly closing activities: Participate in monthly closing process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with financial standards for own responsibility area.
• Overall responsibility of accounts receivables.
• Fixed asset management: Take overall responsibility of the process of recording and tracking long-term assets over their entire lifecycle, from acquisition to disposal. Maintain accurate records to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement, implementing changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments to ensure a holistic understanding of the business.

Our expectations 

• 3+ years of relevant experience in accounting / finance, preferably some of it in technology product business.
• Proficiency in an ERP system (Netsuite experience is a plus).
• Good Excel proficiency and strong willingness to learn more.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills in English and interpersonal abilities.
• Relevant education in finance or accounting.
