We are looking for an experienced hands-on cloud native Lead Architect for our Elements Common Services area. As a lead architect, you get to work closely with the dedicated development team, as well as leading the architectural vision and planning for the future. Common Services include backend services related to API integrations, agent management, and common functionality for other services in WithSecure. The team is also responsible for the backends of our on-premises products, and builds capabilities for customers to migrate to our flagship product WithSecure Elements.

You will work in the Foundation Product Office, together with other Lead Architects, but also Product Owners, Lead Quality Engineers and others. In other words, you get the best of both worlds - close to both the technology and business!

Key Responsibilities

• Hands-on contribution to development. Creating and reviewing code changes. Readiness to lead key development activities.
• Taking ownership in crafting architecture runway items for the Common Services area and execute related design activities.
• Work together with other architects to create a long-term vision for our architecture and share best practices.
• Support developers in making good design choices by using your experience in software development.
• Promote good Software Engineering and DevOps practices and coach the team to improve them.
• Participating in day-to-day operations in teams to lead them hands-on from the DevOps front line, when necessary.

What are we looking for?

• Extensive experience in DevOps of cloud native backend software.
• Extensive hands-on experience of multiple AWS services.
• Experience in designing, documenting, facilitating, and communicating architecture choices.
• Experience in Python and/or Node.js development.
• Ability to balance between short-term business wins and a long-term clean architecture.
• Great communication and facilitation skills. Ability to express yourself concisely in English, whilst capturing. the essential and relevant elements, also for non-technical stakeholders.
• Understanding of Infrastructure-as-code.
• Security mindset.
• Curiosity and ability to learn and get excited about new things.

Bonus points

• Interest and experience in Cyber Security
• Interest and experience in Artificial Intelligence
• Prior experience in Java development
