Future Talent in IT, Identity and Access Management Specialist Trainee

Kick-start your career with the Aalto IT trainee program as a IAM (Identity and Access Management) Specialist Trainee. This program develops talents while providing practical work experience in the compelling world of IT services. It is designed for someone intending not just to take on a summer job but to engage in a longer-term commitment.

As part of our technical team, you'd be engrossed in developing and supporting IAM services for the diverse Aalto community, including researchers, teachers, and other members. Our tasks include taking care of the functionality, security, development and support of our IAM solution so that our community can function efficiently.

Your role

As an IAM Trainee, you will participate in e.g. for planning, prioritizing and testing development targets, designing integrations from an IAM perspective and service support as part of our IAM team.

You can specialize more on development or support depending on your interest.

Working with us assures you of a wealth of practical development experience. You can look forward to:

• A general understanding of the role of IAM in the organization including utilization of data, integrations, user identities, accounts and rights.
• Acquiring practical development experience over the trainee timetable.
• Gaining knowledge of services used in development, maintenance, and support.
• Developing understanding and competency with services and tools such as OneIdentity Manager and Active Directory.
• Tackling tasks preplanned and checked according to IT's needs and the trainee's interests.

We hope you are ready to commit to work with us at least for a year. The work is full time during summer and part time during the academic year, when there is teaching (arrangement is flexible based on studies). There is potential for an extension beyond this period. Our aim is that you will work with us for a longer period flexibly in a way that supports your studies and allows you to develop your competence in your chosen IT area.

As part of Future Talent in IT program we offer you a mentor, onboarding and training sessions and networking with other trainees. In 2024 we are recruiting six trainees for this program in the fields of Identity and Access Management, Integrations, Generative AI, Machine Learning & Analytics, and CDO Office.

What we are looking for

Our ideal IAM Specialist Trainee possesses the following:

• Passion for service developement: you have the desire to understand the needs of end users and stakeholders and to come up with ideas for development.
• Interest in IAM: Enthusiasm for learning and understanding users' digital identity and access rights management.
• Collaborative Spirit: Capability to work well both independently and with team members, with strong cooperation and communication skills.
• Knowledge of SQL and Powershell is an advantage, but not a mandatory skill.

You are based in Finland and you are currently a student in a Finnish educational institute. Strong English communication abilities are a requirement, Finnish language skills would be a bonus. More than anything, we hope you are passionate about constantly innovating, keeping pace with industry developments, and eager to learn something new together with others.
