Be the future of IT! Are you a student with a passion for Information Technology and an interest in Machine Learning? Whether you're just beginning your studies or are further along, we have an opportunity for you. At Aalto University's IT Services, we are looking for a Machine Learning Analytics Engineer to be a part of our Future Talent Program. No prior work experience is needed, but hands-on development experience, whether from a hobby or schoolwork, will be beneficial.

Your role

As a Machine Learning and Analytics Engineer in our Future Talent Program, you'll have the unique opportunity to design and implement algorithms to analyze large datasets and extract valuable insights. You'll work on a wide variety of tasks, from data preprocessing and feature engineering to model selection and parameter tuning. You'll get a chance to apply these techniques to solve real-world problems and optimize performance.

The Future Talent Program offers a unique opportunity to learn while implementing and improving various techniques. You'll collaborate with a team of seasoned professionals, receive specific training and possibly work on live projects alongside your studies.

Target profile

We are looking for a student who is either in the early stages of their studies or has more advanced IT field practice. The ideal candidate:

• Has completed relevant courses at Aalto (or elsewhere).
• Has a genuine interest and passion for Machine Learning and Technology.
• Can demonstrate some experience with hands-on projects or exercises through studies, extra-curricular activities or hobbies.
• Brings an innovative mindset and a willingness to learn.
• Has ability to learn ways of creating basic analytic layouts and user interfaces with own preferred technologies (HTML, CSS,  JavaScript, or Salesforce CRM).
• Is interested in learning how to fetch data from databases (SQL server, Azure, Salesforce etc).
• Can create and maintain software documentation.

Practicalities

You would make a commitment of at least one year. This would involve full-time work over the summer and roughly 30%-time commitment post-summer (arrangement is flexible based on studies). There is potential for an extension beyond this period.
