I’m Jussi Jääskeläinen, Chief Architect and Head of Solution Architecture UC team in CPS PA Communication, Product Unit Unified Communication and I’m looking for Operations/DevOps Engineer to work in Unified Communication domain. Product Area Communication is the common product house for all the B2B communication services within Telia footprint.

You will be joining Solution Architecture UC team, that has accountability for developing and operating Communication Service Hub, our inhouse enabler for almost all our Unified Communication services. In addition, we collaborate with different Unified Communication domain products, support, and work with them related to architecture, development, and operations.

The role includes, but is not limited to:

  • Act as Application Manager for Service Hub, closely working with Resource Manager according to our Common Delivery Model based on ITIL4 Service Management framework in combination with Scaled Agile (SAFe) model. Securing sustainable operations, security and attention to life cycle of Service Hub are your main priorities.
  • You will be part of the agile system team and work with the different Service Hub DevOps teams to continuously drive improvements and enhancements how we deploy to, run, and operate our multiple Service Hub instances in private and public and soon sovereign cloud using CI/CD, observability tools and the different platform capabilities, like Kubernetes.
  • Interact with IT department, partners, and other stakeholders regarding the use of the platforms, networks and other IT capabilities we need, driving our requirements towards them and taking care of the LCM of the assets we use from them.
  • Collaborate with Service Managers, Product Owners & Product Management from multiple devops teams continuously deploying and delivering new releases of Service Hub components to deliver value to our customers with good quality.
  • Participate hands-on on operations and support (we have 3rd level support responsibility) of the service hub. This requires both good old fashioned Linux operations skills but more so modern developer type of skills.

Your Experience:

  • Relevant bachelor or master level education (or proven equivalent qualification) from field of IT.
  • 5 year+ experience from operating or building & running IT and/or Telco services. Less can be accepted as the role is not set as junior or senior, but you need to convince us then.
  • Good understanding and alignment with agile way of working, devops principles. Experience from SAFe is seen as a benefit.
  • Understanding of CI/CD, container and Kubernetes concepts.
  • Understanding and experience of working with security aspects of the applications and services.
  • Technical skills from several of these areas: Windows, Linux, Storage, DB, IP networking, Backups, Monitoring, Security, Logging, Metrics, VMware, Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), CI/CD, GitHub & GH Actions, IaC, Scripting, containers & Kubernetes. If you cannot speak the language of technology, you cannot fulfill this position, but you do not need to be deep specialist in any of these and have experience on all of them.
