Teaching Assistants For Summer/Fall 2024

Are you interested in working with fellow students and getting work experience in teaching? The Department of Electrical Engineering and Automation is looking for teaching assistants for the following courses:

1) ELEC-E8740 Basics of sensor fusion

2-4 teaching assistants will be hired for this course. The course will be taught in English.

The tasks of the teaching assistants include:

- Handling exercise sessions:

  • There are 10 exercise sessions, in each of them 3 assignments should be solved by either the TA or students (if it is preferable)

- Handling project work:

  • TAs should prepare the "project guide" or modify the available one, explain the instruction of the project work in one session in the class, allocate time for students to come to the laboratory and collect data.

- Grading:

  • There are 2 exams, about 10 homeworks and 2 reports for project work that should be graded.

- Contact with students online using e.g. Zulip:

  • During each week TAs should allocate some time for online discussion with students about the homeworks, exercises, or lectures.

The applicants are expected to have knowledge of linear algebra, mathematical statistics, calculus, sensor fusion systems and Kalman filtering algorithms for solving sensor fusion problem.

2) ELEC-E8739 AI in health technologies

3 teaching assistants will be hired for this course. The course will be taught in English.

The tasks of the teaching assistants include assignments and project checking.

The applicants are expected to have:

  • general knowledge of machine learning

  • understanding of deep learning

  • hands-on coding skills in Python

  • interest in AI for health

3) ELEC-E8103 Modelling, estimation and dynamic systems

2 teaching assistants will be hired for this course. The course will be taught in English.

The teaching assistants are expected to guide several of the (computer) exercises and check/grade the submitted assignments with other assistants. There are 5 exercise weeks distributed in periods I&II, each exercise week contains 4 x 2h exercise sessions. The teaching assistants can guide those sessions together or share the sessions among assistants. There is also a final exercise with no exercise session, but grading is needed.

The applicants should have taken the course with a very good or excellent mark, or have similar experiences: modeling using ODE, Simulink, regression, and system identification.

4) ELEC-E8125 Reinforcement learning

2 teaching assistants will be hired for this course. The course will be taught in English.

The tasks of the assistants:

  • Preparing an automated Jupyter notebook grading system during summer 2024 (1.6.2024-31.8.2024)
     

The applicants are expected to have knowledge of reinforcement learning and good Python skills.
