Wärtsilä Marine Power Solutions RDE, Automation & Controls is looking for Automation Engineers and Embedded Controls. We are now looking for Automation Engineers with Embedded Controls who are interested in developing control systems. This is a permanent position located in Vaasa or Turku, Finland. We also offer possibilities for partial remote work.

Your typical day in this position will include:

• Design and implement new functionality for our engine control systems with C/C++ or Matlab/Simulink, e.g., fuel injection control, charge air pressure control, combustion control, communication protocols, etc. 
• Working with electronics and defining requirements for hardware. 
• Design, implementation, testing and verification of new features 
• Validating control functionalities in simulated and production engines 
• Maintenance and troubleshooting issues in production systems 

For you to be able to succeed in this role, we expect that you have:

• Master or Bachelor's degree in Automation, Process Engineering, Computer Science or similar 
• Functionality development and simulation skills using Matlab/Simulink or C/C++ development skills for embedded systems. 
• Knowledge in agile development practises DevOps, especially continuous integration, automated testing and continuous delivery 
• Good teamwork and communication skills are essential 
• Fluency in verbal and written English, our everyday work language is mainly English 
• Experience with the following seen as an advantage: Atlassian toolset & Git 
• Python and Java knowledge is required 
• Electronic design competencies are a plus 
• Embedded Linux competence is a plus 
• Skills in data science is a plus
