Wärtsilä Corporate Functions include our global Finance, Human Resources, Communications and branding, and Legal organisations. Wärtsilä Information Management (IM) supports businesses and our corporate functions in digitising core operations and enabling new digital business opportunities through technology and information.
 
To respond to the growing IT needs of Wärtsilä Marine businesses, we are recruiting a Director, IM Business Partner, Marine Businesses.
As a Director, IM Business Partner, Marine Businesses, you will be end-to-end accountable for IM’s service delivery toward some later defined part of Marine Power, Marine Systems, or Portfolio Business divisions. Your focus will be to secure the business continuity of selected Marine businesses via well-functioning IM service delivery and to drive the addition of maximum value to their current and future performance via IT and digital capabilities. You are fully responsible for managing the relationship of the IM function with selected Marine units. You need to have experience in leading strategic business relations and evidence of accelerating business development using digital and IT. You are energetic, good with people, and driven to add value.
 
Your target is to maximise the value of IM delivery for Wärtsilä Marine businesses. You are accountable for all global IM delivery to your Marine business stakeholders and work in close cooperation with them to drive forward their strategic business development using IT and technology capabilities. Business management satisfaction and future needs are your guiding stars in managing and further developing the IM service portfolio for Marine.

Position information:

This is a permanent position and the possible locations for this position are Helsinki, Turku or Vaasa, Finland.
 
Responsibilities:
 

  • Manage strategic business relations to increase the value of IM delivery for selected Wärtsilä Marine Businesses
  • Capture new demands and explore new opportunities together with stakeholders in business management
  • Help develop Marine business's target architecture and capability map that drives and enables strategies
  • Help develop and prioritise strategy-driven Marine IT development portfolio with critical stakeholders
  • Support and steer the development of selected IT business initiatives according to agreed priorities
  • Manage, analyse, and continuously optimise the value of the IM service portfolio for Marine businesses
  • Manage and drive efficiency in IM spending for Marine businesses to reach profitability targets
  • Represent global IM total delivery, value and cost toward Wärtsilä Marine businesses
  • Follow up business activities and share knowledge of those within the IM organisation
  • Manage marketing and communication of IM activities for key stakeholders
  • Build and develop a strong business development mindset in your organisation
  • Lead a team of Marine business-specific IM managers and experts

 
Qualifications:
 

  • M.Sc. in Information Technology or Economics & Business Administration
  • Excellent management and leadership skills with the capability to drive change
  • Minimum five years experience and proven track record in managing strategic business relations and service development for organisations working in a global environment
  • Strong financial knowledge with the capability to manage IT spending and improve efficiency, make business case modelling and understand paramount profitability and business value drivers
  • Experience in steering, managing and developing project and service portfolios, as well as their governance models
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing and collaboration skills
  • Proactive and goal-focused attitude to work with excellent decision-making skills
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
