We are now looking for a Senior Engine Expert to join our innovative Cylinder Head & Valve Mechanism expert team working for a better future. The preferred location for the position is in Vaasa, Finland.

Your role and background:

In this position, your work will focus on developing components and systems in Cylinder Head & Valve Mechanism team’s responsible area. The components that we are responsible for are the cylinder head, valves, rotators, and valve train, including the camshaft. You’ll be working as a part of a great team with diverse expertise where all the tasks are divided based on individual skills and interests. Basically, this means that your background can vary! You can be a person who likes to do simulations and calculations, or you like to make documentation for the manufacturing process. In both cases, you could be as valuable to our team. 

On a typical day you could be for example working with…

  • 3-D design of systems and components in NX, including simple FE calculations and CFD calculations or casting simulations
  • Simulations of hydraulic and mechanical valve train systems with GT-suite
  • Writing quality instructions and following up on the validation status of components
  • Cooperating with own production or supplier to ensure good quality and reliable engine components
  • Basic research in our own Rigs or together with Universities
  • Customer support together with technical service

Requirements for the position:

  • Understanding of 4-stroke engines
  • Understanding of the physics of engine systems
  • Willingness to travel (some travelling is required to meet with our customers and suppliers around the world, even though most of the meetings are held virtually)
