Job description 

We have an ecosystem of partners that develop software for our mixed reality headsets on top of our APIs. In this role, you will help our team support developers, partners, and customers in utilizing our APIs and Unreal Plugin. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be the primary technical contact for our key partnerships and their go-to technical person during integrations. Experience in real-time graphics or game engine development ensures you're up to the task.

Our team currently consists of one senior software engineer, Samuli Jääskeläinen, who is looking for a colleague to work with on projects for cool clients like Volvo, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and the US Air Force. You will also collaborate internally with a variety of teams, ranging from engineering to sales.

This is a full-time position located in Helsinki, Finland. Commuting from other cities in Finland is a possibility we can discuss and support. If you're based elsewhere at the moment, we will gladly help with relocating to Finland and make your move to the capital of the world's happiest country as smooth as possible.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Working with engine partners and customers using Unreal, helping them to integrate and use Varjo API
  • Assisting external developers to use our SDK & APIs, and help resolving any developer-related support questions
  • Creating example and showcase assets using Unreal utilizing our latest hardware and software features 
  • Technical Product Management of our APIs: Turning partnership requests into requirements for R&D.
  • Profiling applications and looking for solutions to optimize their performance 

 

Our expectations

  • Experience working with Unreal Engine with C++ and modifying engine source code
  • Experience shipping Unreal Engine applications or plugins
  • Fluent with C++
  • Team player, ability to perform in cross-functional teams and to share knowledge with others
  • Experience working with at least one modern graphics API (Vulkan or DirectX)
  • Our company language is English - thus good communication skills in English are required.
  • If you have previous experience or passion for VR/XR it is a big plus
  • Experience with Unreal Engine OpenXR runtime is a big plus
