The Offering Development team in P&FS Product Lifecycle Management is seeking an enthusiastic Service Offering Lead, Offering Development to spearhead the development of new service concepts. The role is offered as a permanent contract and can be based in Drunen, Netherlands; Trieste, Italy; or Helsinki, Turku, or Vaasa, Finland. In this highly flexible role, you will be able to work partially remotely in accordance with our hybrid work model.
What will you be doing?
As Service Offering Lead, Offering Development you will lead the creation of service concepts that offer value to our customers and help solve customer problems. As the product owner for a service concept, you’ll oversee development. piloting, launching, scaling, expansion, and continuous improvement of the service concepts. You’ll also be the main point of contact for these concepts, fostering collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across Wärtsilä. Additionally, you’ll contribute to development processes related to service concept development and explore new service development ideas.
To excel in this role, you should possess excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, thrive in a diverse team environment, and have a strong results-driven mindset. You should be well-versed in lean service creation and agile methodologies, with a proven track record in development and deployment projects, such as supply chain management, sales or service development, digital development, or new business models. Additionally, you should embody our core values of customer success, passion, and performance.
Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the development of service concepts with compelling value propositions for our customers.
- Ensure the offering is developed and launched within the agreed budget, scope, and timeline, both internally and externally, while acting as the project manager for the concept development team.
- Serve as the product/concept owner to ensure sales scale-up, expansion, and continuous improvement of the end-to-end process chain and service concept.
- Act as the go-to person for service concepts.
- Build close and collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders across Wärtsilä, including various functions, business units, and Sales.
- Develop and refine ways of working within the team, linking to the service concept development process.
- Identify and evaluate new development ideas related to service concepts.
The below will enable you to succeed in this role:
- MSc in a relevant field of education.
- Experience in business and commercialisation.
- Familiarity with lean service design and agile principles.
- A proven track record of leading complex development and deployment projects.
- Familiarity with Wärtsilä products, services, and processes, or similar experience from other global manufacturing companies is advantageous.
- Knowledge of marine business processes and products is advantageous.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and change management skills.
- A proactive attitude, recognising opportunities and driving development and progress.
- Excellent conceptual skills with the ability to see the big picture.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- A results-driven mindset.
- A customer and sales-oriented mindset.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach.
- Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken.
