We are looking for a (Senior) Expert, Structural Design with a main responsibility in Product Development of Catalytic Converter Mechanical Structures. The preferred location for this position is Vaasa, Finland, but Turku and Helsinki are also possible. We offer the possibility of hybrid remote work.
Your role and responsibilities:
As a (Senior) Expert, Structural Design your work will include leading an ambitious development program with internal and external multitalented expert teams. In the systematic development process, you will be using the latest simulation tools and state-of-the-art science to materialise competitive catalyst products for Wärtsilä’s Marine offering including zero carbon solutions. You’ll be working as a part of a highly skilled and energetic catalyst team with diverse expertise and product understanding.
Requirements for the position:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in R&D or demanding product development
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in leading multi-discipline development programs
- Knowledge of national Finnish R&D public funding
- Keen interest in the decarbonisation of the Marine industry
- Capability to set targets, successfully coach experts and deliver results on time
- Hands-on understanding of engineering physics
Qualifications/to be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have:
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in engineering
- Capability to challenge the current to build something completely new
- Understanding the latest simulation tools and their potential in engineering
- As a leader you demonstrate a solution-oriented approach to tackling problems
