Join our Lifecycle Data Operations Centre of Excellence (CoE)!
The Lifecycle Data Operations Centre of Excellence (CoE) is seeking three Service Plan Engineers to join our new team. The role can be based in any main Wärtsilä location in Europe. Due to limitations outlined by data processing guidelines, locations outside of Europe cannot be accepted for the roles. In line with our hybrid work model, you will be able to work partially remotely.
About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Service Plan Engineer to join our Lifecycle Data Operations Centre of Excellence within the Product Lifecycle Management Functions. This pivotal role requires an in-depth knowledge of data modelling in Teamcenter and will involve formulating and improving the Lifecycle Data Operational process. The Service Plan Engineer will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to ensure the alignment of the service plan with operational realities and business requirements at Wärtsilä.
You will be responsible for:
- Outline the target Lifecycle Data Operational Process (Service Plan), identify gaps, and create action plans to both establish and continuously improve the process.
- Ensure that the service plan operational process is aligned with the realities at Wärtsilä.
- Engage in dialogue with stakeholders at all levels within the company to secure understanding and alignment.
- Advocate for the service plan and ensure it remains integral to the company's operations. Defend the Service Plan and the Operational Process.
- Work with e.g. Product Management, Information Management, and the PFS Business Unit Development to anchor the service plan as the Lifecycle data model and enabler. Establish and nurture needed interactions with key stakeholders to support anchoring process and creating acceptance.
- Formulate, align and outline the ownership of the service plan data model at the necessary levels.
- Ensure that the service plan process and the operations linked to it is both taking the business requirements into consideration and also meeting the expected commercial benefits.
Key Specialisation Areas for the Role of Service Plan Engineer:
- LC Data Strategy: Develop and implement strategic plans for the service plan to align with the company's goals. This includes e.g. securing the service plan is future proof and serves e.g. the Digital Service Transformation.
- Data Model: Expertise in data modelling to ensure accurate and efficient data management within Teamcenter. This includes participation as expert to development initiatives driven by Business Unit Development.
- Process and Ownership RACI: Define processes and establish clear roles and responsibilities using the RACI matrix. This includes creating, outlining, maintaining and anchoring the RACI across businesses and teams.
- Control Points: Implement and monitor control points to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the service plan data process. Secure control points are operationalized to support scaling efforts with partner ecosystem.
- Service Plan Data: Oversee and participate in the creation, maintenance and updating of service plan data/content to ensure it is created according to set standards, remains complete and consistent when utilized.
- Partner Ecosystem: Ensure a seamless integration of the service plan development agenda to a quality delivery of content, liaising with the LC Data Partner and Operations Lead.
- Scope and Quality: Plan the scope for partner delivery together with internal customers. Quality assurance of the delivered scope, ensuring partners are aligned with the company's objectives and that their contributions meet the required standards.
The ideal candidate must possess these skills and capabilities:
- Strong knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) principles and practices.
- Basic technical understanding of Wärtsilä mainstream products.
- Basic understanding of how Wärtsilä service business operates and consumes data.
- Ability to design and implement effective operational processes utilizing modern tooling.
- Extensive experience with data modelling in Teamcenter.
- Comfort with ambiguity and ability to navigate uncertain situations.
- Willingness to iterate and refine plans as needed based on feedback and changing circumstances.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team, supporting and elevating colleagues to achieve common goals.
- Ability to link the operational data process with commercial performance is seen as a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities to effectively engage with various stakeholders.
- Positive attitude and readiness to be part of a freshly established function, supporting creation of the best possible Lifecycle Data Operations CoE for Wärtsilä.
Other remarks
The Lifecycle Data Operations CoE is a newly established function with the goal to deliver highest level of maturity of product data, relevant for commercially and strategically meaningful lifecycle data operations. The CoE will be reassessed against the Group Data Governance in Q2/2025. The input and guidance received at this point will be considered and operations aligned to follow the group guidance. The Lifecycle Data Operations CoE lies in the Product Lifecycle management function, in the Parts and Field Services Business Unit.
