International Studies Student Advisor to Aalto University School of Engineering.

Are you passionate about encouraging fellow students to gain international experience during their studies and promoting the benefits of global education? We are seeking an international studies study advisor to assist and guide students at Aalto University School of Engineering. In this role, you will have the front-line opportunity to influence the internationalisation experience of Aalto University students.

In this diverse role, you will also collaborate with students and staff, as well as enable and develop our university's international study opportunities.

This is a temporary part-time position until May 31, 2026.

Why this position is perfect for you

As an international studies student advisor, you will play a key role in supporting students in all matters related to exchange studies. You will act as a key figure for students embarking on their first experience in a new culture, or help returning students integrate their international experiences into their studies at Aalto. Your work directly impacts the enrichment of our diverse student community.

Your duties and goals in this role:

• You will advise outgoing and returning exchange students.

• You will assist in organising programmes for incoming international students and information sessions and events to support internationalisation for outgoing exchange students.

• You will support the School of Engineering's international studies team in marketing and communication tasks.

• You will create various marketing materials.

• You will maintain connections with student organisations on matters related to internationalisation.

• You will assist in administrative tasks and other relevant student advising duties.

Your network and team

You will work closely with the School of Engineering's international studies team, other staff at the School of Engineering, and student organisations such as Aalto University Student Union (AYY) and student guilds at the School of Engineering.

Your experience and goals

We are looking for someone who:

• Has personal experience with exchange studies or other international experience.

• Understands the situation and needs of incoming international students.

• Has studied at least one semester at Aalto University School of Engineering.

• Is interested in promoting internationalisation and integrating international students.

• Is open-minded, responsible, and customer-service oriented.

• Has been involved in university student organisations, such as AYY, a student guild, or as an international tutor.

• Is flexible with working hours during busy times.

• Has proficiency in using MS Office software and social media, and can independently seek information.

• Is willing to conduct exchange info sessions for student groups.

• Is confident working in English; knowledge of Finnish and Swedish is an advantage.

Compensation for the position is determined according to the university’s salary system for 10 working hours per week, with a monthly part-time salary of 669.17€. We hope that you can start your new position on August 18, 2025, but the start date is negotiable.
