We are looking for a process and product expert to join our Environment & Abatement team in Energy EPP Technology, with a main responsibility for providing expertise and solutions that enables our engine power plant business globally. The preferred location for this position is Vaasa, Finland. We offer the possibility of hybrid work.

Your role and responsibilities:

As an Expert, CSO Process within our technology organisation, you will work in our team where power plants based on Wärtsilä engines and our customer’s environmental needs and requirements, are turned into sustainable solutions. You will support our sales and delivery projects and contribute to the transition towards a sustainable fuel and energy landscape. The expertise field is broad and requires continuous learning. Your tasks are adjusted based on your individual skills.

Your work will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Manage process modules, consumables, process streams and control strategy for our CSO product (Combined Selective reduction and Oxidation catalyst) providing state of the art emission abatement for engine power plants.
  • Lead the technical value chain including engineering, design, delivery, standardization and documentation for process equipment and process control.
  • Maintain an overview and support other areas of expertise for the delivery of CSO emission abatement systems from process perspective. Being responsible for knowledge sharing related to best practices for our stakeholders, delivery organizations, quality management, sourcing, and external parties.
  • Responsible to determine, develop, and maintain design rules, guidelines, documentation, and tools to configure process equipment. Oversee equipment selection and its configuration with automatic tools.
  • Lead the construction of process diagrams, datasheets, documentation for process streams and delivering equipment.
  • Leading development projects within own responsibility areas and support other development projects within your field of expertise.
  • Ensuring product information and data related to own responsibility areas are up to date and adequate so that power plants efficiently and reliably can be offered and delivered.
  • Collecting data from running installations and feedback from stakeholders, analysing and documenting improvement needs and ideas.
  • Planning and executing quarterly product improvements based on prioritised items in the product backlog.

To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have:

  • BSc or MSc (in chemical or process engineering or similar).
  • Process chemical background with deep understanding of equipment and streams or alternatively the right theoretical base and keen interest and capability to learn and develop within this area. The entrance title can be adjusted based on previous experience, and expertise gaps will be bridged through learning.
  • Holistic perspective of process engineering and specifications to ensure that all angels of design are considered and communicated properly.
  • A target oriented, focused, analytical, systematic approach with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of customer and stakeholder needs and requirements and can turn these into practical solutions.
  • Strong collaborator skills: you can manage a large span of stakeholders and lead virtual teams.
  • Experience in process and product development as well as project management.
