Wirepas is seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and enthusiastic Test Automation Engineer to contribute to the development of our Wirepas Mesh Test Automation. Wirepas Mesh is an embedded software binary product, and all testing is done by test automation. Hence, we consider test assets as our second product. Today we run 1.4M test runs per year. We have 25 physical test networks in use. We have also a digital testing environment, where we can test the same binary as in physical hardware. All this produces a lot of data, which needs to be pre-processed into a readable format. If you are up for a challenge, this position may be the right one for you!
In Wirepas product development, the Test Automation engineer is the key contributor for developing and executing test automation. You will be working with a team of 15-20 people that includes developers of the Mesh product and test automation assets. In your role, you will be developing, maintaining and executing test automation for the new Mesh releases. The Test Automation engineer works to ensure that business, quality, and functional goals are met with each product release. You also understand both the SW testing and embedded IoT products.
The position is in Tampere, Finland.
About you
You have an enthusiasm for driving and defining software testing, where quality is ensured by fully automated testing. You are a self-starter who can manage time effectively. You also have good analytical mind and advanced problem-solving skills coupled with a commitment to drive the best quality. You communicate fluently in English as it’s the working language at Wirepas.
You like working with a technical team and should see opportunities where other people see challenges. You should be comfortable managing multiple projects at once.
As a Test Automation Engineer, your responsibilities include:
- Product test automation implementation and execution i.e. ensuring that developed automation is testing correctly to ensure high quality outputs
- Executing testing according to the schedule and keeping all the stakeholders informed.
- Participating in collaborative efforts of release testing
- Managing risks that may affect release testing and/or schedule.
For this role we are hoping for you to master:
- Established background in testing wireless embedded software products together with software engineering teams and high degree of proficiency in documentation, iterative development, and understanding of Agile principles
- Technical understanding of the modern test automation platforms and tools: Jenkins, Robot framework, Bitbucket pipelines, Jira, Zephyr, …
- Creative thinker with a vision, while maintaining attention to detail
- Good spoken and written English as English is our company language
- Previous experience of test automation development (C, Python)

- Be comfortable managing multiple projects at a time.
The experience of embedded hardware-related software and tools is considered an advantage.
