We are looking for a Design Manager, Mech., Catalyst Systems with a main responsibility in securing successful delivery of Catalytic Converter Mechanical Structures from our design and supply chain. The preferred location for this position is Vaasa, Finland but also Turku and Helsinki are negotiable. We offer a possibility to hybrid work.

Your role and responsibilities 

As a Design Manager, Mech., Catalyst Systems your work will include co-ordinating operative project deliveries together delivery and design teams.  As the design is ready you are the main responsible in securing that the manufactured product and design are seamlessly integrated resulting to an excellent product delivery.  You’ll be working as a part of highly skilled and energetic catalyst team with diverse expertise and product understanding to materialise competitive catalyst products for Wärtsilä’s Marine offering including zero carbon solutions.

Requirements for the position:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with welded steel structures  
  • Minimum 5 years of experience at project delivery business where delivery quality and timeline are crucial
  • Keen interest to interact with Wärtsilä’s delivery partners to reach common goals also in difficult situations
  • Keen interest in decarbonisation of Marine industry
  • Hands-on understanding on large steel component manufacturing
  • Willingness to travel approx. 50 – 60 days per year

Qualifications/to be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc.in engineering
  • Sertification from International Institute of Welding like IWE or IWS is appreciated
  • You are familiar with NDT methods
  • Good command of English
  • As a leader you demonstrate solution-oriented approach to tackle problems
  • Open mindset and willingness to develop yourself
