(Senior) Analyst, Business Intelligence and Strategic Analysis

Wärtsilä Energy is looking for a (Senior) Analyst to drive our Business & Market Intelligence efforts. A proactive mindset and ambition to develop state-of-the-art market insights and strategic analysis on a global scale are essential for this role.
You will be part of our Strategy & Business Intelligence team and report to Nette Lehtinen, Director, Strategy and Business Intelligence. You’ll collaborate closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior management, Engine Power Plants and Services Business Units, and three Areas globally. This position offers excellent learning and career growth opportunities within Wärtsilä.
The role is offered on a permanent basis, with the preferred location being Wärtsilä’s headquarters in Helsinki, Finland. Other Wärtsilä locations in similar time zones are possible.
Key responsibilities:
As a (Senior) Analyst, Business Intelligence and Strategic Analysis, your responsibilities will include:
- Reinforcing strategic decision-making by analysing industry trends and Wärtsilä’s business. You will develop and manage Business & Market Intelligence processes and analyses, focusing on leveraging internal and external data and insights in a strategic context.
- Providing insights into business opportunities and technologies in the energy landscape by building business cases and strategic analyses that integrate financial, technological, and strategic perspectives.
- Delivering market insights and outlooks related to Wärtsilä Energy’s market position and competitive landscape. You will strengthen and coordinate Business Intelligence information flow across the organization.
- Developing and managing Business Intelligence platforms, tools, databases, and related partner relationships.
Requirements for the position:
- Have a strategic mindset and a proven track record of conducting hands-on Business Intelligence, Market Intelligence, and strategic analysis that adds value to the business. For a Senior Analyst role, minimum 3 years of experience is expected.
- Have experience and strong interest in the business logics and market dynamics of the energy industry. You understand the roles of different power generation technologies
- Possess financial acumen, a passion for data driven strategic analysis, and the ability to translate them into clear strategic conclusions and visualizations
- Hold a degree in Finance, Analytics, Economics, Energy, Industrial Engineering, or another relevant field
- Are fluent in spoken and written English

- Are a team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills. You’re comfortable engaging with senior leadership and have demonstrated the ability to build trust.
- Are quality driven, have a structured mindset, and a sharp eye for detail. You can break down complex phenomena into clear insights.
- Have the mindset for continuous learning and improvement. You are eager to explore and present new ideas, and to elevate Business Intelligence and strategic analysis by using new frameworks, tools, and AI.
- Experience in a globally operating company or a top-tier management consulting firm is considered an advantage.
