We are looking for a Service Manager for the public cloud services used in Wärtsilä. The preferred location for this position is Helsinki, Finland or Vaasa, Finland. Turku, Finland is also possible. We offer the possibility of hybrid work.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Service Manager for Cloud Services, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery, performance and continuous improvement of cloud-based IT services.
Your responsibilities will include service governance, service improvement initiatives and their independent execution. You will be supporting our internal and external stakeholders in utilising our public cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS). We have two cloud architects to help you with the technical development of the platforms.
The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working as a part of ICT Production Services team with diverse expertise.
Your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Service Improvement of Wärtsilä's public cloud services: Drive continuous service improvement initiatives, including automation, monitoring, cost-efficiency, security and incident reduction.
- Vendor Management: Lead and manage relationships with cloud service providers and third-party vendors, ensuring SLAs and contractual obligations are met.
- Governance & Compliance: Together with architects, ensure services comply with Wärtsilä's security, regulatory, and architectural standards.
- Cost efficiency: With the active help from our FinOps Engineer, you monitor and optimize cloud spend, provide cost transparency, and support budgeting and forecasting.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders including development teams, IT operations, security, architecture, and application teams to align our cloud services with business needs.
To be able to succeed in the position, we expect from you:
To excel in this role, candidates may come from diverse backgrounds. You might have extensive experience in managing and developing corporate cloud platforms, or you could be a seasoned service manager within corporate IT services on some different domain with some exposure to public cloud services. Additionally, we expect:
- A Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related field
- Fluent English
- Good communication skills
- Basic understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, CI/CD pipelines and automation tools is a plus
