Test Automation Specialist

You perform testing and quality assurance tasks within sprints and validation projects.  You develop and maintain test assets (Test Cases, Test Plans, Test Data, Test Environments) used for manual and automated product testing and manage your own assignments and schedule. You also act as a resource for other departments on issues relating to the tester’s modules. 

Key Accountabilities/Decision Making & Influence

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Works with agile software development team and other testing services team members to deliver high quality software.
  2. Primary responsibilities include proactive testing, finding new defects, reporting and analysis of the tested system, and supporting software designers in corrective actions.
  3. Designing and creating test cases, test data and other necessary test assets.
  4. Creates test automation for the module under test.
  5. Managing, tracking and ensuring bugs getting removed.
  6. Produces quality regulated software.

DECISION MAKING AND INFLUENCE

  1. Improves working methods.
  2. Influences software design to maximize testability and automation potential.
  3. Develops testing framework in co-operation with senior verification specialists or test automation architect.
  4. Researches and develops an understanding of the industry requirements for the product features being tested, including daily usage of the features and feature related performance, security and reliability requirements.

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

Essential

  1. Over three years of experience in software testing environment, or equivalent to.
  2. Good manual testing skills and understanding of the QA processes in agile development environment.
  3. User Experience with application related test automation tools like Robot Framework, Selenium and Appium.
  4. Python coding skills.
  5. Practical experience with modern test, defect and requirement management tools.
  6. Must be able to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  7. Team player with a “can do” attitude.
  8. Genuine desire to learn and improve yourself

Desirable

  1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, information systems, computer science is required, or equivalent to.
  2. Java/JavaScript coding skills
  3. Basic knowledge of databases related scripting/programming
  4. Continuous Integration-pipeline understanding
  5. Working experience from regulated software development environment
