We are looking for a Heavy Lift Transports Coordinator at ABB Oy, Power Grids, Transformers Business Line in Vaasa. In this role you will be managing day to day Heavy Lift transport activities in close collaboration with different stakeholders. You will be responsible for all activities related to Heavy Lift transports, from the offers to the final deliveries.

Your responsibilities
• Responsible for all heavy lift related transport management tasks on the factory
• Participate in the tendering process, be involved in all budgetary offers done at the factory level, RFQ process, analysis, negotiation at quotation phase.
• Responsible for the negotiation with the supplier
• Responsible for tracking and delivery the savings (cost out)
• Represent Heavy Lift Transport function in project kick-off and subsequent meetings
• Initiate and maintain close communication with Project Management in order to identify the transportation needs of the project
• Develop a shipping plan based on procurement planning
• Co-ordinate completion of required documentation from suppliers and factory
• Monitor project plan and advise affected parties of any changes
• If necessary, travel to the job site or loading site to supervise loading/unloading activities
• Provide input to risk review and forwarder proposal review
• Regular supplier communication
• Transport execution, tracking and communication
• Follow all the company guidelines, process, using the right logistic tools and homologated supplier aligned the business strategy.

Requirements:

• Recent experience in the heavy lift logistic (> 80 ton) arrangements for transformers. This includes e.g. requesting quotations, negotiations and ordering transportation and site activities as well as communication with insurance company.
• Capable of managing and prioritizing multiple time-sensitive tasks in a dynamic environment
• Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues from other functions, TMC planners as well as provider personnel
• Strong written and verbal communications skills in English
• Strong project management skills
• Knowledge of operational safety programs and procedures
• Ability to work independently with a sense of urgency
• Team player with flexibility in working different shifts
• Willingness to travel as necessary

• Knowledge of MS Office and SAP
• A customer-focused approach
• Knowledge of the production environment
• Experience of managing supplier relations
