Right now, we are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to manage our Voice Interconnect and SIP-Trunk solutions in Finland. As this role is expected to handle sensitive data and systems, you need to have a citizenship of Finland.

Our team is located in Finland and Lithuania and is highly involved in cross-border agile production in all our six Nordic and Baltic countries. We are at the forefront of telco technologies including IMS, 5G voice, SIP-Trunk, Cloud and Automation, and we are operating/maintaining Mobile and Fixed Voice Core systems for both consumer and business services.

In this role you will be collaborating closely with operations, production managers and developers in the same team and across Telia Company. You will also interact with our suppliers (such as Ericsson, Nokia, Microsoft/Metaswitch), partners and clients. We are working within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), so knowledge and aspirations of working in that framework will also be needed. Ambition and ability to work as a Scrum Master or Product Owner is an advantage.

The work duties consist of but are not limited to:

• Operation and Maintenance of Voice Interconnect and SIP-Trunk solutions.
• Migration of traffic from legacy to target voice core systems and keeping them up to date.
• Troubleshooting, tracing, and analyzing of faults in Voice Services; handling incidents and customer cases; participating in task forces resolving issues.
• Working with other operators and vendors, handling support cases.
• On Call Duty and planned/unplanned overtime.
• Development and integration activities, incl. configuration, parameter design and implementation.
• Testing & verification of SW, HW and Voice Core system functionality; SW upgrades.

Your Experience:

• Voice Core competence and knowledge of the different voice technologies, architectures (incl. IMS), functions, interfaces, and protocols in the Telecom sector, specifically SIP, Diameter, SS7, etc.
• Hands-on experience in operations of virtual Voice Core systems from suppliers such as Ericsson, Nokia and Microsoft/Metaswitch.
• Solid knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems and IP protocols.
• Good understanding of Telco Cloud technologies and processes (incl. software defined networking, storage and compute infrastructure).
• Experience in agile development methods and practices, i.e. Scrum, SAFe, Agile, Jira.
• Software development skills to support automation practices.
• Fluent in Finnish and English (written and spoken).
