We are looking for an employee to fill a PhD student / Project researcher position in the project entitled "Comercialization of highly conducting thin films"  Position is a fixed-term and will start at the earliest in September 2019 and ends on 30 June 2020. 

The work will be carried out in the Materials Chemistry group, lead by Professor Carita Kvarnström (Department of Chemistry University of Turku, Finland). The project is funded by Business Finland. Our main research focus is on organic electroactive materials: conducting polymers, graphene materials and on preparation on metal nanoparticles, as well as on nanoscale design of surfaces and thin layers.

Candidate applying to the project must have an MSc degree in materials chemistry or closely lying fields of chemistry. A successful applicant should be highly motivated in experimental science and have a background in materials chemistry. Prior experience and knowledge in organic electronically conducting materials and their synthesis, knowledge in electrochemistry is compulsory, as well as experience from organic composite and hybrid materials.

The salary will be determined in accordance with the Finnish university salary system for teaching and research personnel, and consists of two components. The first is a work-specific salary component reflecting how demanding the position is, and the second is a performance component reflecting an evaluation of the position-holder’s personal achievement. The salary for doctoral candidate based on for teaching and research personnel levels 2 – 4 where the work-specific salary component is 2033,29 – 2535,20 euros per month. The component based on personal performance adds a minimum of 6 % and maximum of 50 % to the work-specific salary. There will be a five-month trial period.
