Wärtsilä Shared Service Center (WSSC) supports the Wärtsilä companies in financial accounting and other operational tasks and acts as a gatekeeper to ensure compliance. WSSC is striving for harmonized
one global Wärtsilä way of working worldwide with high quality, timely, effective and efficient processes. WSSC is sharing best practices and knowledge with focus on continuous development and operational excellence.
 
WSSC Period End Closing Services’ main focus areas are general ledger accounting and closing tasks and the automation and robotization of these processes.
 
We are now looking for a Senior Accountant or Accountant, Period End Closing.
The position is a temporary position for 1 year and is located in Vaasa, Finland.

Responsibilities:
- General ledger postings and period end closing adjustments, for Wärtsilä companies all around the world
- Monitoring that global SAP automated closing jobs (Smart Close) are proceeding according to timetable and without errors
- Monitor General ledger account balances and clearings 
- IG fee handling, accruals and reconciliation
- Participate in monitoring and implementation of best practices and harmonized way of working related to the period end closing processes
- Assisting end-users in general ledger postings and period end closing tasks in SAP
- Creating and updating instructions and training material, giving training
- Participate in further developing the automation of closing and general ledger processes using robotics software and runbook report verification.
- Other tasks, e.g. HFM reporting
 
Requirements:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Financial Accounting
- Work experience from Financial Accounting and reporting. Work experience from shared service center or other global accounting services is seen as an advantage
- Good understanding of financial accounting processes and reporting
- Smart Close tool knowledge
- Experience from developing and automating financial processes
- Interest in e.g. Power BI and robotics is seen as an advantage
- Basic understanding of IFRS and VAT tax, CIT process and awareness of differences between IFRS and local accounting rules
- Pro-active, self-driven, fast learner and good team-worker
- Customer service skills
- Advanced skills in English. Other languages are seen as an advantage
- Advanced IT skills SAP FICO, MS office.
