Project Manager, Releases

Will you be the key person in our team developing and delivering future industrial applications?

This role provides excellent opportunity to work with different stakeholders and to be part of a team that produces new software products. As a Project Manager of releases in software supply center (Application Expert Center team - AEC), you are responsible for managing industrial software products creation and delivery. You provide targets, priorities, communication and decision making to the Agile development team and stakeholders.

You will be key person planning, coordinating and driving that our industrial software products will meet scope, schedule and are resourced as required. Your focus is on managing the product releases in close cooperation with our product management, software development teams, R&D release manager, project teams and other stakeholders. You will take care that problems are solved quickly to make sure that development progresses as planned. You will make sure that backlog is always up to date and you are responsible for work prioritization and daily team work guidance. You apply and further develop the product creation processes together with the team.

In this role you
• are directing the targeted product release scope (set by product management) and are running the release process and steering (quality gates) following existing procedures
• align prioritization with release phases as well as align and manage gradual implementation of the targeted product structure and concepts with product managers, R&D and other stakeholders
• lead, communicate and follow the progress of product creation work (from specification to testing) and make sure adequate resourcing is in place
• manage risks systematically
• are managing the up-to-date work backlog of the team including prioritization

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have 5+ years of experience on software R&D and you should be able to analyze, plan, implement plans into actions (ask the right questions to make sure things get done) and drive efforts on multiple fronts in a matrix organization.

You have excellent skills to co-ordinate, plan and organize complex tasks not forgetting delegation. You are result and target orientated, you can make quick analyses and you are able to make decisions quickly enough based on facts. You like to work with people and you are eager to continuously improve things. You will also support and motivate your colleagues. You have good social skills and you like to work in the dynamic environment to align things between organizations.

Experience as a project manager, release manager, product owner or technical team lead would be beneficial.
You have hands-on experience on agile and lean methods. You have solid organizational skills, and you can communicate in various environments with other teams and stakeholders. You are fluent in English and in Finnish.
