Big data and machine learning are transforming the field of healthcare. GE Healthcare is strengthening its Data Science Team in Helsinki. We develop machine learning tools that will help clinicians to make faster and more accurate care decisions for the improved safety and health of their patients. We are looking for several Master’s Thesis Trainees for a medical technology development project for approximately 9 months.
Essential Responsibilities
- You will develop an algorithm, applying machine learning techniques, that will solve a clinical problem. For example, your algorithm would predict if a particular clinical problem is likely to occur or not.
- Your solution will utilize clinical data that may include physiological measurements, signals, natural language, and/or image data. You will be responsible for processing the data into a format that you can use for your development work.
Qualifications/Requirements
- BSc in computer science /statistics, with education in data management and analytics (or equivalent knowledge/experience)
- Good command of the relevant programming languages (such as Python), development frameworks (Hadoop, Spark, Theano, TensorFlow), database tools (SQL), and operating systems
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written
- EU work permit
