We are now looking for a Senior Scientist, Video Coding to join our team.

Key responsibilities

 

We are looking for a senior researcher to provide significant technical leadership in the development of video coding algorithms with the aim of improving compression performance and enabling new user experiences.
This position will involve participating in hands-on research work as well as in standardization activities.
As a member of our research staff, you will be expected to initiate and create research ideas as well as contribute to research work that leads to technology transfer, publications and Intellectual Property.
You will also be authoring proposals to relevant international standardization projects.

Requirements

 

To succeed in this exciting role, we expect you to have

 

6+ years of relevant experience on algorithms for video coding
A master degree is a minimum requirement and a PhD degree is preferred.
Solid experience in software development skills in C and C++.
In-depth experience in in high-quality software implementation of signal processing algorithms.
Strong background and knowledge in the area of image and/or video signal processing and compression.
Expertise in the latest video coding standards, such as High Efficiency Video Coding.
Solid mathematical skills.
A track record in publishing in scientific journals in the fields of video/image signal processing and compression.
Strong verbal communication and presentation skills in English along with excellent technical and scientific writing skills in English.
Ability to work and make decisions independently.

The following additional skills or experience are valued:

Knowledge on video or imaging hardware, FPGA, and GPU implementations.
Knowledge on 360-degree video/image processing.
Machine learning skills.
Experience of international standardization is considered a significant benefit.
Increased awareness of issues outside of your own subject area.
