As a Senior Financial Crime Data Scientist in FCIA you will be working with statistical models, stakeholder involvement, data transformation, building new capabilities and data products as well as modelling that supports the unit’s requirement to build the next generation financial crime solutions.

• Turn innovative ideas and tactical data tools into reusable data solutions
• Proactively contributing to the build of next generation financial crime solutions including articulating how analytical solutions and data transformations can be integrated into these
• Utilize the knowledge of data to optimize the way complex investigations are carried out using data - A curious mind not afraid to suggest data driven solutions that will increase the bank's effectiveness and efficiency
• Building data pipelines that supports the creation of a continuous risk monitoring capability
• Conduct research to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the financial crime monitoring

• Have a strong cultural awareness and a dynamic/pragmatic approach and willingness to execute things in an end-to-end manner to ensure business benefit realization
• Take responsibility of own learning by proactively seeking out opportunities within FCIA i.e. research and explore value-adding solutions, deliver training to analyst profiles and stay at the forefront of financial crime trends

• A Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistical Sciences. Recent graduates are welcome to apply to this position.
• Excellent English language skills
• Technical understanding covering data processing and software development in distributed systems (Hadoop), data transformation and data pipelines (automating the movement and transformation of data)
• Understanding and technical awareness of Linux and common big data and visualization open source technologies such as Hadoop, Elastic Search, graph databases, entity resolution and network analysis
• Able to work with business stakeholders, facilitate decision making and communicate clearly on complex topics.
• Strong in at least one common data science -oriented programming language such as R or Python
• Excellent knowledge of Data engineering programming languages such as Scala or Erlang
